How CityParking works
Parking labels
- Free — reported as free of charge.
- Paid — reported as requiring payment.
- Restrictions may apply — time limits, permits or other rules, or the cost is unknown. Unknown is never treated as free.
Ratings
- Fewer than 5 votes: Unverified (too few votes to judge).
- 5+ votes and 60% or more positive: Good.
- 5+ votes and 40% or fewer positive: Bad.
- 5+ votes with a positive share between 40% and 60%: Neutral.
Votes are one per spot per browser. There are no accounts, so clearing site data allows voting again; this limits casual repeat voting but is not a guarantee against abuse.
Is this spot still there?
Visitors can report a spot as still there or gone, once per spot per day. Several recent “gone” reports show a warning; reports never remove a spot automatically.
Where the data comes from
- Municipal / official source — imported from a public dataset, with its name, link and license shown. May be out of date.
- OpenStreetMap (open data) — parking mapped by volunteers, © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL). Not official; a missing fee tag is shown as “Restrictions may apply”, never Free.
- Community submitted — added by users; unverified and never official.
- Demo data (not real) — synthetic sample data used to try the app.
Important
Signs and local rules always take precedence. Verify restrictions on-site. Information here may be missing, wrong or outdated.
Privacy
Your location is used only in your browser to center the map and sort distances; it is never sent to our server. Voting sets one anonymous cookie; only a hash of it is stored.
Keyboard
All controls are reachable with Tab. Map markers are focusable; press Enter to select. The list is a full alternative to the map.
Languages
Lithuanian and Estonian translations are machine-made drafts and may contain mistakes, including in cost and restriction labels. If in doubt, switch to English or Latvian.
